Knot&Feed
Falu Rödfärg Knot&Feed
is based on old, tried-and-tested craft traditions combined with modern production technology. With its timeless colors, it preserves centuries-old expressions. And with its unique character, it helps create new, classic architecture.
The paint has the properties of linseed oil paint and the beautiful appearance of mud paint. For example, the finished paint layer does not form a dense film but allows the wood to breathe naturally, which means that moisture is not trapped and thus risks causing rot.
Falu Rödfärg Knut&Foder is a water-borne dispersion paint based on linseed oil. The paint gives a beautiful matt surface and is primarily intended for use on knots, linings and wind panels. The carefully selected traditional colors in combination with the mattness and luster are perfectly coordinated to interact in a balanced and natural way on houses painted with Falu Rödfärg Original.
THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT
- New untreated wood should be brushed clean of dirt and dust.
- On previously painted surfaces, all loose paint and wood, so-called grey wood, should be removed with a scraper or wire brush.
- Then brush away all loose dust.
- The surfaces should be washed with a suitable facade cleaning agent.
- If there is, or is a risk of, mold spores, it is very important that the surfaces are first treated with a growth inhibitor.
- Stir the paint thoroughly.
- On new untreated wood, dilute the paint with 10% water for the first coat.
- Let dry for about 2 days. Then coat once with undiluted paint.
- Previously painted surfaces are normally painted once with undiluted paint.
- On heavily exposed surfaces, for example surfaces with a south or west orientation, it is advantageous to coat an extra coat for extra long durability.
